Everything You Should Know About Industrial Control Valves
There
are multiple types of Industrial
Flow Control Valves.
Control Valves control the flow through valves. These valves are
responsible for the proper and timely flow of fluid and medium
through the valves. Such valves are mainly used in industries of
Chemical and refinery processing. According to the latest finance
report of one of the top class manufacturing industry, it is found
that these Industrial Flow Control Valves, accounts for around 15% of
total expenditure among other equipment and materials used in
industries. Industrial Flow Control valves are used for controlling
the flow of varied liquids, gas, steam, and other such substances.
There
are various categories of Industrial Flow Control Valves
viz., On-Off services, which includes valves like Gate, Ball,
Butterfly, Plug, and Diaphragm Valves. Other is Throttling Services
which also provides Butterfly valves. Additionally, there are Globe
and Pinch Valve. And the last one is Non-reverse Flow
Let’s
have a brief description of these valves one by one -
This
Valve consists of a gate lies perpendicular to the direction of the
flow of the medium through it. These valves are usually used for
On-off services as mentioned above. They are not prominent for
slurries and viscous fluids.
In
this type of valve, the plug is attached on or off the seat. This
seat opening is right in proportion with the plug flow. It has a high
seating capacity and has a large pressure drop. The controllability
of the flow is very high. Such valves are useful in throttling
purposes. For high-temperature usage, it is considered good.
This
valve has three parts Body, Plug, and Cover. The shape of the plug is
either tapered or cylindrical. The bore connects with the inlet and
outlet ends. The flow control in this valve is straight. This type of
plug valve is used for the refinery, chemical, and petrochemical
industries. Plug Valves are used for On-off services.
Ball
Valves are next level of Plug Valves. The ports of the valves are
spherical in shape but the seats matched with the valves are circular
in shape. This way the seating stress is overall uniform. Ball valves
are best for controlling flow and pressure. These are very easy to
maintain, small in size, and less in weight.
Each
of the above-mentioned valves has their own advantages and
disadvantages. So, you should have to check your requirement and need
before buying the polyurethane tubing for you. Hopefully, this guide would help you to gain some basic and
fundamental knowledge about industrial Flow control Valve.
